Why is there a cable included with the drives?
The TinyDisk drives fit straight into a USB port on any PC. However on some systems the USB ports are located at the back of the case which makes it hard to access. For convenience we include a USB cable with every TinyDisk, which can make the USB port more accessible.
Does the TinyDisk require a driver to work?
A CD with drivers for the TinyDisk drive is included in every box. A driver is required for Windows 98 and Mac OS 8.6 whereas newer operating systems will recognise the TinyDisk drive automatically without a driver installed.
Does the TinyDisk have an LED to indicate data transfer?
Yes, the little "moon shaped" LED on the front of the drive flashes when data is being transferred between the TinyDisk and the PC / laptop.
I am unable to format my TinyDisk. What do I do?
If the flash memory in the TinyDisk becomes unreadable or you are unable to format the drive it is possible to run a "recover disk" on the drive to solve this problem. This application can be downloaded HERE (UMSDTools2.33.zip - 1Mb)
